Bakersfield Business Help Toys for Tots

Bakersfield, CA (KGET) — A local business has provided vital help to Toys for Tots, but the organization still needs help.

Toys for Tots has until the end of the month to move out of its former storage facility and into the new space.

The organization desperately needs someone in the community to step up and help them with a warehouse where they can store their toys.

Payless Mini Storage heard the organization’s plea for help and provided them with eight temporary storage units while they continued their search for a new warehouse.

Darlene Doughty, Toys for Tots coordinator, said that while they would like a space between 2 and 3,000 square feet with a loading dock, they are willing to share delivery space.

“We’ve been donating to the community. Toys, if I didn’t have a community to go to, I probably wouldn’t have Toys for Tots this year. After nine years of trying, communities need toys for their kids, and that’s what Toys for Tots is all about. Get the toys,” Doughty said
