HINTON, WVNS (WVNS) – As the end of the year draws to a close, a local small business is honored for overcoming adversity and succeeding.
Hinton’s Botany Tropicals is the West Virginia Hive’s 2022 Small Business Startup Award.
In 2022, the flower shop changed its location three times.
Through it all, the business has continued to grow and improve, said Jordan Casey, co-owner of the store.
“So we received this award simply because we found innovative ways to stay in business,” Casey said. “We started as a plant shop and a terrarium bar, but in our first year in business , we slowly started to mix other things into it just to keep us here forever and still be able to provide people with plants, but the plants don’t always pay the rent.”
Botany Tropicals will celebrate its first anniversary on January 14th.
