The Buccaneers are finally in the win column against the Saints. Tampa Bay was able to beat the Caesars Superdome 20-10 in Week 2 and 2-0 this season after beating their NFC South rivals 0-4 in the regular season since Tom Brady arrived.
While the game scored a total of 30 points, for the most part, it was a real rock fight. The Saints kept the Buccaneers out in the first half, and they had just three points at halftime. In the second half, a spat that resulted in the ejection of Mike Evans and Mason Lattimore was the catalyst for an offense that exploded and New Orleans’ eventual demise.
The Saints turned the ball over four times in a row in the second half, giving Tampa Bay 17 points and helping them win. Winston finished with 236 yards passing, one touchdown and three picks. Meanwhile, Tom Brady threw for 190 yards and a touchdown. Bucs cornerback Jamel Dean accounted for two of Tampa’s three interceptions that day.
From here, the Buccaneers will return to Tampa for the Green Bay Packers, who will host their Week 3 home game. As for the Saints, they’ll pick up the pieces from this loss against the Panthers in Carolina.
