Chicago police say man posing as city employee to solicit money from businesses

Chicago police say a man posed as a city employee to solicit money from a business in the area.

The man dressed and identified himself as a city inspector when he entered a business in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood on Dec. 12. Around 11:15 a.m. on the 13th, police told FOX 32.

According to police, the man claimed he was checking the company for a gas leak.

Police said the man was in the store for several minutes before making a request for the services he provided.
