Devour Indy hopes to bring more business to local restaurants in low season – WISH-TV | Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The post-holiday period is low season for most restaurants, so the two-week “Devour Indy Winterfest” hopes to boost business across the city.

January starts. 23rd and continues until February. 5 Everything from pizzerias to steakhouses.

“We have every price point, every price range. One of the best things about our site this time around is that you can go by price range,” said Colleen Rose, director of communications and events for the Indiana Hotel and Lodging Association. Search so you can choose your budget and find the best restaurant for you.”

Participants will receive a three-course value meal at a special price.

“They’re able to set prices so you can get a lot of food that’s a good deal for a particular restaurant,” Ross said.

Says Harry and Izzy’s executive chef Jeff Stoller: “The gobble-up menu—we keep a lot of our traditional favorites on it. We have 6 oz. 8 oz. filet, which is a center-cut Filet, and then we have black cod and smoked goose steak.”

The goal of the campaign is to bring in business during the off-season, especially after three years of working during the pandemic and managing the aftermath.

“There always seems to be something,” Ross said. “So there’s a lot of inflation right now, price margins are getting tighter, so it’s a great way to support these restaurateurs and the people who work in these restaurants.”

Asked what January would have looked like without the initiative, Stoller said: “Outside of meetings, we’d probably have a lot of boring cooks and waiters, so getting everyone involved in the flow of business is a piece of cake. Good thing.”

Coupons and passes are not required to attend the event, but reservations are encouraged during this busy two-week period.

Devour Indy also hosts Summerfest in late summer to help business pick up during the slowest part of summer.
