Twitter has disbanded its Trust and Safety Council, an advisory group of nearly 100 independent civil rights, human rights and other organizations.

Council members provided the AP with images of the emails on Twitter, speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation
“Our commitment to making Twitter a safe, informative place will move faster and more aggressively than ever before, and we will continue to welcome you,” the email, signed by “Twitter,” reads. Come up with ideas on how to achieve this goal”
The platform confirmed just four days ago that it would continue to hold meetings with the committee and “open conversations and Q&As” with Twitter employees, including new trust and safety chief Ella Irwin.
The group of volunteers provides expertise and guidance on how Twitter can better combat hate, harassment and other harm, but does not have any decision-making authority or review specific content controversies.
