Everything Everywhere All At Once won Best Actor at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

This sci-fi adventure follows a middle-aged Chinese-American immigrant and her husband scrambling to pay their taxes while the IRS audits their laundromat.

The lead actor Michelle Yeoh won the Best Actress Award, Quan Kehui won the Best Supporting Actor Award, and Jamie Lee Curtis won the Best Supporting Actress Award.

Accepting her trophy at the ceremony in Los Angeles, Yeoh said: “It’s not just for me.

“This is for every little girl who looks like me.

“Thank you for letting me sit at the table.”

Quan, a Vietnamese-American actor who was a child actor before taking a long hiatus from acting, said he was the first Asian to win in his category.

He added: “When I left acting, it was because there were so few opportunities.

“The landscape looks very different now than it did before.

“Thank you to everyone in this room who contributed to these changes.”

Curtis, who plays the tax agent in the film, said: “I’m 64 years old, which is amazing.”

Other winners include Brendan Fraser for Best Actor in The Whale, Abbott Elementary for Best TV Comedy Ensemble and The White Lotus for Best Serial.

Jessica Chastain won Best Actress in a Limited Series for her portrayal of country singer Tammy Wynette in “George and Tammy.”

Sam Elliott won Best Actor in a Limited Series for his performance as a cowboy in the 1883 Yellowstone spinoff.

Hacks star Jean Smart won Best Actress in a Comedy Series — her award was accepted by co-star Christopher McDonald as she recovered from heart surgery.

Bear star Jeremy Allen White won Best Comedy Actor.

The Screen Actors Guild Award is widely seen as a predictor of next month’s Academy Awards.
