Florida business partners shoot each other to death during work dispute, police say

Two Florida men cannibalized each other in a deadly shootout at a business they jointly owned.

The shooting happened Thursday afternoon at their business in Lakeland, Florida 3135 US 92 East. While the Polk County Sheriff’s Office did not release the name of the business, a Google search showed the address as the Service On Site of Central Florida Inc., an auto service business.

The pair, business partners Akeido Bennett, 31, and Xavier Figueroa, 39, shot each other, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said they believe the two men shot each other as part of an ongoing business dispute.

Bennett reportedly died at the scene of the shooting, while Figueroa tried to leave the company in the truck but later died of his gunshot wounds.

“This is a tragedy that could have been avoided because of a disagreement between business partners,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. “To our friends, family and society at large, we have an obligation to negotiate Solve problems, not resort to violence. These people are alive today, and if they could solve their problems, their families would not grieve their differences in civilization.”
