Fred Allen Kana – The Daily Admoret

Lincoln, Maine Fred Allen Kana, 72, died with his family on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Torgus VA Hospital in Augusta, Maine . He was born on April 23, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas, to the late Joe Fred Kana and Avie Leah (Hughes) Kana Lea (Hughes) Kana). Cremation services have been carried out and a cemetery service with military honors will be held in St. Petersburg. Wednesday, October 12, 2022, 10am at Mary Cemetery in Ardmore. Fred grew up primarily in Healdton, graduating in 1968. He also lived in Kearns, Texas and Comanche, Oklahoma during his childhood. After graduation, he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country proudly for six years. During this time, he married Linda Henton of Healdton and had three children, Cheri, Justin and Alyssa. After returning from Vietnam, Fred also earned a master’s degree from Golden Gate University while serving. Fred and Linda returned to Hilton after enlisting in the army, and he began working in the oil field. He is actively involved in community service, serving in several civic organizations, and is active in youth sports and the Healdton School, serving as a board member, lay coach and the voice of the Bulldogs during football season. His big laugh, big voice and funny personality are key traits that many will remember. In 1996, he moved to Dalton, Georgia, and later to Lincoln, Maine, while working as a store director at Walmart. In 2002, he remarried his current wife, Beverly. They raised her four children, Lee, Rice, Megan and Greg. Before his death were his grandparents and parents as well as his sister-in-law Janelle Cardini (Kana), his brother Nicky Kana’s wife and son-in-law Shawn Skelly. Fred’s wife is Beverly of Lincoln, Maine. Sister Betty Mocek and husband Michael of Fort Worth, Texas, and brother Nicky Kana of Kerrville, Texas; daughter Cheri Hanley and husband Chris of Park Ridge, Illinois; Stillwater’s son Justin Kana Justin Kana and wife Kelli; Lone Grove’s daughter Alyssa Morton and husband Chris, OK; stepson Lee Hand and wife, Sydney, VA; stepson Les Hand, VA; stepdaughter, Megan McCain or ME ; and stepson, Greg Hand, Virginia; grandson Sami Hunter and husband Colton; Cole Skelly, Brynli Tucker, Jocelyn Morton, Case Kana, Abby Hanley, Lucas Hand, Lauryn Hand, Landon Hand, Beckham Hand, Cierra McCain, Kaleb McCain, Koby McCain, Camden Hand, Ameliah Hand, Emerson Hand and a great-granddaughter Skye Blair Hunt and two nephews, David and wife Lisa, Doug Mochek and Fort Worth, Texas His ex-wife, Linda Khanna of Ardmore, OK.
