Mice have a rhythm and like to dance to Lady Gaga, researchers find

Scientists have found that mice have a rhythm and will happily dance along with Queen and Lady Gaga.

Sharp-eyed rodents also like a little Mozart, Japanese research found.

Scientists have found that the skill of moving to the beat of music is thought to be largely human-related.

Researchers at the University of Tokyo fitted mice with devices that could detect the slightest head movement, and played Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” “Another Queen’s Biting the Dust” and a Mozart piano sonata.

They found that when the mice played at 132 beats per minute, the mice managed to keep pace with all the tracks — the same as humans.

But research shows that when the piece is slowed down or sped up, they don’t like it much.
