A severe winter storm continues to unleash dangerous conditions across the country this holiday weekend.

Death toll rises: At least 15 people have died in states including New York, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, Kansas and Missouri.
power failure: More than 1.7 million customers across the U.S. were still without power as of Saturday morning, according to Poweroutage.Us. Utilities made progress in restoring power before dawn Saturday, but numbers could increase throughout the day as strong winds are forecast for much of the Midwest and Northeast. In states such as North Carolina and Tennessee, residents have been told that temporary outages are possible as the weather puts pressure on power providers.
Extremely cold temperature: More than 100 million people in the U.S. remained under wind chill warnings Saturday morning. Some alerts in parts of the center and east of the country have already begun to fail.
Holiday impact: The winter storm has now upended holiday travel for three consecutive days, as airlines canceled more than 9,000 flights across the country ahead of Thursday, Friday and Saturday. As of Saturday, more than 1,600 flights had been canceled across the country. Delivery companies including Amazon, the US Postal Service, UPS and FedEx warned customers that their deliveries would be disrupted on the last day before Christmas due to the storm.
