Miles is the farm manager for the Green Village Initiative.
The Bridgeport-based nonprofit uses urban gardening and farming to teach people about food, leadership and community.
In addition to farms that provide the community with fresh produce, the organization also has schools and community gardens and youth programs.
Myers said the scope of programming benefits everyone in the community.
“I love giving everyone something nutritious that we don’t normally get in this community,” Myers said.
He said some of the challenges they faced was the process of getting greenfield zoning approved to help their plans develop.
