RLF AgTech (ASX: RLF) has introduced its ‘breakthrough’ Veridium seed initiation technology to the global market, which will improve yields for growers.
Veridium is RLF’s latest proprietary technology that delivers plant-available nutrients directly to seeds – improving soil moisture and fertilizer uptake.
Veridium’s trials have shown huge gains in wheat, maize and rice — “overtaking” existing technologies.
During the trial period, 100 g of Veridium on rice seed yielded 1 ton of grain per hectare.
Unlike current seed treatment applications, Veridium is applied directly to seeds by seed breeders and growers prior to sowing.
The seeds absorb the product, thereby increasing their nutrient levels, thereby increasing soil moisture and fertilizer absorption, as well as vigor and plant growth during the first 45 days of plant life.
“Veridium is a breakthrough addition to RLF’s product portfolio,” said RLF Managing Director Ken Hancock.
“Our research to date has shown that using Veridium as an integrated component of the RLF product suite will enable farmers to substantially increase yields and profits.”

The company’s trials have shown that when Veridium is used in wheat, its return on investment is 4.35 times, while corn offers 423 times the investment and rice is 300 times.
The global seed treatment market size is expected to reach USD 13.5 billion by 2025.
RLF said it is growing at a CAGR of 12.19% and is one of the fastest growing sectors in agriculture.
“RLF believes more efficient and successful seed treatment is critical to the move to achieve a 50 percent increase in food production – a demand that the UN estimates needs to meet by 2030,” Mr Hancock said.
He said the company was positioned to make an “important contribution” to the world’s escalating hunger crisis.
Mr Hancock explained: “If the results of our trial are extended to rice crops around the world, Veridium will increase food supplies to meet the annual rice consumption of 1.3 billion people.”
