The Benefits of Speed: Marble/Driver Technologies Integration

“For us, this is really the first step we’ve taken, not just being a repository or storage space for all the policy details,” Winchester said. “We want to be more vaults [entity] Plus insurance/risk guidelines. “

Drivers are a critical step in that direction, he said.

“Most of our customers have auto insurance, so that’s our cornerstone with Driver,” Winchester said. “Going forward, we have partnerships that have not yet been announced, but in this area, such as health and wellness, step counting and home flood monitoring.”

The idea of working with Driver is to provide Marble customers with data about their insurance policies and a way to better manage their risk.

“We saw that it was a great way to work with Driver, we store all your information well, and now we have a great partner that can lower your insurance costs or make you safer through technology, ‘ said Winchester.

To date, Marble employs nine full-time employees and has raised about $3 million in venture capital to date. Launched in 2018, Driver employs at least 30 full-time employees (plus a few part-time contractors) and recently raised a $10 million Series A round.

The partnership qualifies Marble users for three months of Driver Technologies’ DriverPremium service.

Quick integration

Marble took the time to find and review Driver as its first partner. Winchester noted that the process required four or five months of dialogue before Marble and Driver signed the deal.

“It’s been a tough qualification process,” Winchester said. “There’s a lot of cool insurance tech, but not all of them work… We’re very impressed with what Driver has built and what they already have, and that’s a big differentiator.”

After the deal was signed, the integration was quick.

“I think [it was] It only takes a day to get up,” Winchester said. “Off the line, if we get more data passing, which we want to do too, we’ll see how long it takes…”

Driver CEO and co-founder Rashid Galadanci (pictured above) said his company has been pursuing a series of consolidations across the insurance industry. He added that Driver has developed a “very simplified way” to set up a link that can be shared across a fleet of drivers or with anyone in your family or insurance company.

After embedding Driver’s link on Marble’s website and corresponding app, Driver also shares onboarding documents, web pages and videos for users to help them adapt.

quick benefits

Both CEOs said that today’s rapid technology integration is far more beneficial than technology integration that traditionally takes months or longer.

“We really like getting stuff and shipping stuff quickly, so we can learn from our users,” Winchester said. We can go back to a team like Driver Technologies and say, ‘Hey, this is awesome. Let’s deepen the integration. We are also very thin. We’re monitoring our resources so we don’t have to stretch out deployments for months. This means we can build more stuff. “

Galadanci agreed, noting that rapid integration brings feedback and the ability to upgrade and improve Driver technology more quickly.

“A lot of what we’re doing is very new,” Galadenci said. “If you can integrate faster and get user feedback faster, you will be pleasantly surprised that consumers and fleet drivers will use this technology and adopt it in a way that historical hardware has not been well adopted. You can start See the results and therefore justify a wider coverage of such services to your insurance or your insurer [auto] fleeting. “

He added that this approach is better than “the old model of saying ‘hey, we need a budget of $2 million to start doing something,’ and it has to be a one-year process.”

If integration fails, money and time are wasted, he said.
