A two-year-old boy has been safely reunited with his family after being stolen from his car.
He was taken to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where his parents were putting another child on a bus — and it was the school bus driver who helped find the boy.
Last Tuesday, Dave Skinner saw two people in his path frantically trying to wave to stop the car – no one stopped, but he did.
Video has been released showing the father desperately urging: “Call the police… someone stole a car with a baby in it.”
He called 911 and contacted other bus drivers in the Kelloggsville area of the city to pass on the alert.
One of them realised she had recently passed the boy who had been sitting on a blanket in the driveway after being abandoned by thieves.
CCTV showed Sue Figueroa going back to rescue him – less than half a mile from where he was taken. At first he leaves, before she manages to win his trust and coax him into the car.
He was later reunited with his parents.
“It was a great day and a great result,” said Dave Skinner.
The car was also recovered, but police are still looking for the thief.
