Hurricane, West Virginia (WOWK) — A brand new, state-of-the-art dog grooming and boarding facility has opened in Hurricane.
On Monday, Lucky Dog K9 and Hurricane City officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new business at 2902 Putnam Ave.

Lucky Dog K9 offers full-service dog grooming and boarding services. The city of Hurricane says it will soon have daycare options.
The average size of boarding kennels at the facility is 9 square feet, city officials said. They also have two large six-foot kennels measuring 35 and 70 square feet. According to the City of Hurricane, all kennels have a triple locking system.
There are 14 interior and exterior security cameras to monitor the dogs, city officials said. In addition, each kennel room has a 65-inch TV showing animal programming, so the dogs are “never left in the dark or in the silence.”
Additionally, the city says Lucky Dog K9 installed a special septic system on their playground so neighbors don’t have to deal with the bad smell.
City of Hurricane officials say Lucky Dog K9 accepts all breeds and believes dogs deserve fresh air, sunshine and playtime, plus one-on-one time with staff to care for anxious pups.
The city of Hurricane says Luck Dog K9 is a veteran-owned business that offers military discounts.
